The Maine Police Emerald Society offers three types of memberships:

  • Full Membership – Any full or part-time law enforcement personnel and support staff, including anyone previously employed who left in good standing and those retired.  To include but not limited to, Federal, State, City, Town, County, Armed Forces, or Executive Board approval entity.  Must be of at least 25% Celtic heritage (Irish, Scottish, or Welsh).
  • Associate Membership – Any full or part-time law enforcement personnel and support staff of any heritage, including anyone previously employed who left in good standing and those retired.  To include but not limited to, Federal, State, City, Town, County, Armed Forces, or Executive Board approval entity.
  • Honorary Membership- Non-Law Enforcement Individuals who are at least 25% Celtic heritage and who share similar goals of the society.
  • Corporate Sponsors – For businesses, generally in the State of Maine, who share similar goals of the Society and have continuously supported the Society.  Sponsor Members shall be approved by a simple majority vote of voting members present during a business meeting. (To apply or for more information contact the MPES Secretary at secretary@mainepoliceemeraldsociety.org).

Membership Application Process

  1. Download and complete the official MPES Application.
  2. Mail the application along with a check for $35 for the first year’s dues. The application may also be brought to a meeting for approval, if the applicant is sponsored (accompanied) by an active member.
  3. At the next meeting following receipt of the application, it will be brought before the membership for approval.
  4. Once approved or denied, notification will be made to the applicant via e-mail.
